Daevas can enter the Crucible Coliseum through the Kaisinel Academy or the Marchutan Academy. They will also need an Arena Ticket to enter this area, which can be acquired through quests.

- The Crucible Coliseum is a timed instance where players fight each other to the finish. There are 3 rounds of combat, and the instance will end either when one of the players reaches the number of points needed for victory, or when the time runs out. Cheap Aion Kinah

- The Crucible Coliseum is divided into two types of arena – the Arena of Chaos and the Arena of Discipline.
Players can use the same Arena Tickets to access both Arenas.

- You will lose points by:

Dying at the hand of another player, monster or device.
Dying by falling.

- Additionally, at the start of the third round, the character in last place will receive a strengthening buff.

- Ranks are determined in the Arena by adding points acquired during combat with bonus points for time remaining. If two people are tied for points, priority will be given to the player with the most kills.

- Players who leave the Arena during combat or get disconnected from the game during the final tally will not be able to receive any rewards.

- While in the Crucible Coliseum, use the Stop button on the upper right hand corner of the screen to “stop” and leave the Arena. (This will disqualify you from receiving any rewards.)

- You cannot use certain skills or items in the Crucible Coliseum.

- There are Empty Antiaircraft Guns placed in certain areas of the Crucible Coliseum, which players can use.

Click on the ‘Empty Antiaircraft Gun' and your character can board it. You will have use of the weapon for a short time, until ‘board mode' expires.
While using it, you cannot use normal attacks or attack skills, only the gun's skills.

- There are training grounds of Chaos and Discipline separate from the Arenas in which your character can gain a variety of experience.

As many of you have likely seen already, the patch for 2.7 will go live the 19th of October, 2011 with the test server having the patch a few days earlier on the 13th. In an interesting move, the patch mirrors 3.0 being put onto the Korean test server. One wonders if it will become standard for the NA/EU region to be one patch behind, but patch on a very close day to the Korean patches.

Aion Kinah Patch Notes

As a reminder Aion Kinah - patch notes describe the new PvP Crucible Arenas where there is a 10 person FFA and a 1v1 arena. For the PvE minded, there is a 48 person instanced boss fight in Padmarashka's Cave.

There are a few hints for the 10 person FFA in terms of gaining points. There are various objects that may be collected as shown in the beginning of the trailer above. It is almost always worth collecting them, even if you're going to die shortly after due to the number of points they're worth. Don't fight the elites EVER - they are not worth many points and are just painful to fight with when there are so many players to be killed.

The top class for the 10 person FFA seems to be Glad - they're not commonly the first players targeted and a well geared Glad can really smash through the instances. Cloth wearing classes probably have the hardest time due to the number of people in the FFA and the fact that they tend to be targeted first. SMs will find the instances annoying on a number of fronts, since they're commonly targeted first at the beginning of the match and do not respawn with a pet (one hopes a patch will eventually fix this).

In fact, this week's Wings Over Atreia is going to be an anti-rant. No, that does not mean anti aion kinah nor I will rant against rants because I am opposed to them (that would still be a rant, not to mention they can be cathartic at times); rather, this will be the opposite of a rant. Yes folks, I am going to do something radical! Trolls, cover your eyes: I am going to give a compliment. And not just any compliment -- I am going to give praise to NCsoft's customer service! *gasp*.

What confluence of events in Aion brought me to this? Take a peek past the cut to see for yourself.

Let's hear it for the boys (and girls)

So this is more than just a public thank-you for one good experience. In fact, I want to highlight multiple positive experiences when dealing with customer service in Aion. Of course, I understand that some have probably had very negative experiences (one friend actually had his account permanently banned because his friend paid him back with kinah that the friend bought from a gold-seller). But in my experience, the majority of encounters have been positive. Don't believe me? Read on.

Delete. Delete. Delete. Delete. Whoops! I am sure everyone has experienced this painful phenomenon -- trying to empty your overflowing cube of they trash loot to make room for something and deleting something important. In my case, it was a rare and valuable skill book way back when kinah was hard to come by. I pulled the item next to it out to delete, but it deleted instead! My little kinah-strapped lowbie was heartbroken. Although I harbored some doubts it would work, I am by nature an optimist, so I decided to submit a petition. I even included a screenshot of the "You have discarded..." text after scrolling back because I didn't notice for five minutes when I went to get the item! Before long I was rewarded with an answer indicating that my item was restored. The answer also included a phrase encouraging me to be more careful when deleting items in the future (note the confirmation button). And I have been! I think I have only asked to have an accidentally deleted item restored once since then. OK, maybe twice. Obviously it was not a game-breaking event, but it did affect my feelings for the game: I left with positive feelings instead of feelings of loss.

Here is another familiar set of circumstances: Remember way back before the addition of the awesome you-can-trade-with-anyone-in-your-party-for-10-minutes feature? How many times did you click "roll" instead of "pass" when an item appeared that was needed by someone in the group? I admit that when battle was raging strong in an instance, there were occasions when I clicked first and looked later. It was either that or let people die! Usually there's no harm done because my rolls are abysmal and I rarely win. In this particular instance, death was not an imminent threat, but loss of AP sure was. We were rushing to open and loot all of the chests before they disappeared and an item two of us could wear appeared. I rolled and won, only to find that same item was buried deep in my cube! Quietly, I sent in a petition asking if CS could please restore the item to the other party member as I had mistakenly rolled on it. With another admonition to be more careful -- this time when rolling -- customer service came through yet again and plucked the item out of my inventory and placed it into his.

How about accidentally disenchanting a +10 PvP chest piece? I encouraged him to submit a petition even without the screenshot as proof because Aion has detailed logs on everything. I am pleased to report that the story had a happy ending -- his piece was restored!
